Human Design

Human Design forms a component structurally at the root of Simply Your Self™. Human Design and Simply Your Self™ appear the same graphically, but their theoretic assumptions and hypotheses diverge. Although they both synthesize much of the same information, i.e., the Tree of Life, the Hindu Chakras, Astrology, and the I-Ching, the components and complexity of each are different. Ra Uru Hu described Human Design in 1987. When Eleanor Haspel-Portner, Ph.D. tested Human Design, using social science and astrological research tools, on 30,000 cases in 1999, she diverged from Human Design to comply with the statistical analyses. Simply Your Self™ is based on her findings and expands the Human Design structure. Human Design hypothesized four Types; Simply Your Self™ documented five rather than four Types, or Ways of Being.

Human Design uses an energetic graphic body design representing 9 rather than 7 energy centers. It calculates the astrological zodiac using the birth date, time, and place of a person as well as the time approximately three months before birth which is converted into Hexagrams of the I-Ching. The energy map of the body uses the 10 planetary positions, as well as the North and the South Node.

Human Design shows a partial picture of how a person functions; it represents only the mental interactive field of being. Human Design makes the assumption that the birth moment locks a strategy in to a person according to four rather than five types as described in Simply Your Self™. In addition, it assumes at its core that human beings have “no choice” in their unfolding process and it describes most individuals as living their “not-self.”
